The cleanser has a clear, slightly viscous gel texture. A small amount spreads well on damp skin and, with water, develops a light to medium lather. The gel rinses off easily and leaves no oily film or sticky finish.

Immediately after use, the skin feels clean, smooth, and refreshed. For oily skin, the finish is usually pleasantly clear. Very dry, dehydrated, or reactive skin may experience a slightly tight feeling if too much product is used, if massaged for too long, or if applied twice daily. Pilling is not a concern with a rinse-off cleanser.

Morning and/or evening, dispense about a pea-sized amount into damp hands and lightly lather with a little water. Gently spread the foam over the wet face and massage for approximately 20 to 30 seconds. Avoid the eye area and direct contact with the eyes. Then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.

In the evening, when using makeup, waterproof sunscreen, or products with strong adherence, first use a suitable cleansing balm or cleansing oil. The COSRX Cleanser then follows as the water-based second cleansing step.

For sensitive or dry skin, initially use only once a day or every other day. In the morning, depending on skin condition, cleansing with just water may be sufficient.

More product doesn't automatically mean a better cleanse. A pea-sized amount is enough for the entire face. For combination skin, the foam can be massaged mainly onto the forehead, nose, and chin, while dry cheeks are cleansed briefly and without strong pressure. This way, the T-zone is thoroughly addressed without unnecessarily degreasing drier areas for too long.

Tea tree leaf oil and betaine salicylate can be uncomfortable for very sensitive or already irritated skin. If you have a known hypersensitivity to salicylates or aspirin, the product should not be used without professional consultation.

When using retinoids, high-dose acid peels, or benzoyl peroxide concurrently, watch for signs of dryness and over-cleansing. This cleanser is neither a substitute for a leave-on peel nor a medical treatment for acne or inflammatory skin conditions. Regardless of the cleanser, suitable sun protection is recommended during the day.
