The cleanser has a firm, viscous, and elastic paste, reminiscent of soft mochi or rice cake dough. Even a small amount can be lathered with water into a dense and fine-pored foam.

The foam glides smoothly over the skin. Due to rice powder and plant solids, a slight grittiness may be perceptible. Therefore, the paste should not be rubbed undiluted or with strong pressure onto the face like a harsh scrub.

After rinsing, the skin feels clean, smooth, and more refreshed than re-lubricated. Combination and oily skin usually find this finish pleasant. Dry, sensitive, or active ingredient-irritated skin may develop a tight feeling if too much is used or applied too frequently.

Emulsify a small, pea-sized amount thoroughly with wet hands. Gently spread the resulting foam over the moistened face for 20 to 30 seconds, then rinse off with lukewarm water.

Use in the morning and/or evening. For make-up or waterproof sunscreen, first use a cleansing oil or balm. Sensitive or dry skin should start with one application daily or every other day.

• Green Tea Extract – complements the formulation with antioxidant and soothing care properties

• Hyssop Extract – a botanical additive that provides antioxidant care; however, in the official Korean recipe, it is only listed at 1.05 ppm

• Gardenia Extract – contributes to botanical care and probably also to the blue or greenish-blue product coloring

First, completely lather the cleansing paste between your wet hands and apply only the foam to your face. This significantly reduces mechanical friction, and a small amount of product lasts longer.

For combination skin, spread the foam a little more thoroughly on your forehead, nose, and chin. Cleanse dry or reddened cheeks only briefly and then immediately follow with toner and moisturizer.

A patch test is recommended before regular use. Rice powder, kaolin, and the firm paste texture can cause too much friction or dryness on sensitive skin, inflamed skin, or skin irritated by acids or retinoids.

Do not use on broken skin and do not massage in simultaneously with an intensive facial scrub. The cleanser can remove sebum and superficial deposits, but it does not permanently eliminate acne or blackheads and does not reduce pore size.

The official Korean ingredient list contains fragrance. Therefore, the product should not be advertised as fragrance-free. The ingredient list is decisive.
